Founder Portrait
Rosemary M Salve
Founder, Lamparas Vivas Trust
Rose takes care of all the children as if they were her own. She is down-to-earth, honest, and humble in all that she does.
Since founding Lamparas Vivas Trust in 2016, Rose has been the driving force behind every initiative. Her approach is fundamentally different from traditional NGO models — she believes in walking beside families rather than simply providing transactional charity.
"We render help in little ways," she says. "Helping those with so little gives a feeling of fulfilment and satisfaction."
A Personal Connection
What sets Lamparas Vivas apart is the personal relationship Rose maintains with every beneficiary. She knows every one of the 57 children enrolled in school. She knows the struggles of the 31 women she has helped rehabilitate. She knows the men who are rebuilding their livelihoods.
This intimate knowledge ensures that support is never generic. When a child needs a specific school uniform, or a single mother needs specific medical care at NIMHANS, Rose ensures the intervention fits the exact need.
"I don't believe in transforming lives. I believe in giving people the tools they need to transform their own."
Looking Forward
Under her leadership, the trust has maintained a 100% transparency record, securing 80G and 12A certifications. The vision remains clear: a humane society where every family has the chance to experience life in its fullness.
